Alongside its longstanding history of directing music productions, Cryptic produces a diverse array of events, festivals, performances and one-off projects including Cryptic Nights, Beckett Festival and Sonic Dreams with ARUP for the Edinburgh International Science Festival.
A Language of Others was created in 1997 by Alex Rigg of Transfigured. It attracted much attention through the bold combination of commissioned music, sculptural environments and experimental dance performed by over 40 artists.

Beckett Time, an international multi-art form festival celebrating the life, work and legacy of Samuel Beckett. With over 15 performances, films and events, a conference and public interactive programme Beckett Time showcased work from Belgium, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan and Scotland in 2000.

Cryptic Productions was commissioned for the Gala Opening of the IMAX Cinema, Glasgow. The space was transformed internally and externally by lighting from Graham Gardner and sound installations by Alistair MacDonald, giving audiences a visual and aural experience unique to this opening event.
